Information for Participants & Families

What Is Positive Behaviour Support?

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) aims to uncover why behaviours occur and provide proactive strategies that support wellbeing and independence.
PBS focuses on:

-Understanding communication behind behaviour
-Teaching new coping and life skills
-Reducing behaviours of concern by improving quality of life
-Supporting participants in a respectful, collaborative way

PBS is not about punishment or consequence—it’s about support, understanding, and empowerment.

How We Help

We support participants by:

-Listening to their story and understanding their needs
-Working closely with their families, therapists, and support networks
-Creating customised, practical strategies that fit real-life settings
-Building skills, confidence, and independence
-Supporting teams to implement behaviour strategies effectively
-Providing ongoing guidance, monitoring, and adjustments

Our team is committed to walking alongside every participant to help them meet their goals and feel safe, valued, and supported.

What Is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding to people with disability to access supports and services that help them achieve their goals, increase their independence, and participate in the community.

The NDIS funds support such as:

-Therapy services

-Behaviour support

-Daily living supports

-Assistive technology

-Support coordination

At Advanced Behaviour Support Services, we help participants understand their funding, make informed decisions, and access support that aligns with their goals and needs.
